Holiday to the Masai Mara Game Reserve - 24-26th May 2015

In half term me, Sam and Daddy went on holiday to the Masai Mara game reserve.  Mr Pearce my science teacher came with us and he took most of the photos because he has a good camera.
This is me at the swimming pool at Intrepids the camp we were staying at.
We saw lots of animals.
This baby elephant is very young and it is drinking from a muddy puddle.
The most amazing thing we saw was a lion in a tree. Lions are not supposed to climb trees!

We saw 20 lions altogether and I spotted 3 of them.

This is a spotted hyena. We also saw a dead hyena on the road. Maybe it had been run over.

We also saw some giraffes fighting by knocking their heads and necks together.

We went to the kids club and did tracking with Chief. We found hyena prints on the floor.

Then we filled the prints with a mixture of flour and water, called plaster.
We waited for it to set.

This made a cast of the Hyena prints which we took home.

We also saw a family of cheetahs : a mother and 4 Cubs.a

This bird is a lilac breasted roller.

This is a jackal.

This is a vulture. I took the photo.

This is a crested crane.

I liked the Masai Mara and my favourite animal was the lion up a tree.

    1. We think a buffalo might have chased it up there. I liked the idea of making plaster footprints too and it was fun. Love Francesca xxx ☺️😘
